Vision

At Ortiz Middle School, students are empowered with the skills

and equitable experiences to develop as individuals who will champion for themselves and their communities.

Every student will be provided a balanced approach to learning with an

emphasis on service-learning and the arts. Ortiz will provide the

opportunity for all students to participate in the performing and visual

arts, become proficient in a second language, and experience service in the interest of their community.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring,

knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and

more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and

international organizations to develop challenging programs

of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs

encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate

and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
